Emailing is not for the Faint of Heart
Raise your hand if you’ve ever spent 2 hours writing an email (that was probably only like a paragraph long) to a girl? Yeah, pretty much every guy has done this. You’ve perfected the email, checked your sentence structure, performed both spelling and grammar checks (twice!), and are now ready to press the send button. The joy of email is that you can take your time and re-read everything you’ve written before you send it. Very unlike the word garbage that can often come out of your mouth at a bar. However the bad thing about email is that after you press “send”, you’ve lost all control.
And as Guys, we can’t handle a loss of Control.
So now you’ve just got to wait for her response, should it even come. Here are 3 things that can happen:
1. She responds quickly - This is the best. My girl, thankfully responded this way. Though I admit, during those 24 hours I was sweating it out. If she only knew how much time I had spent on those first few emails, I think she would fall on the floor laughing. Yeah I’m a nut, but so are you.
2. She used the Delayed Response - It’s been a couple days, you’ve resorted to only checking your email 15x a day, and you’ve pretty much given up hope. Don’t sweat this response, she could’ve been busy or just doesn’t check her email as much. In addition, when writing an email you have to be in the mood to sit down and compose a note back, so oftentimes people put this on the back burner. Don’t lose hope just yet, you may have something. Note, if the email takes over a week to come, it’s pretty much over. Also not to be a glass is half empty guy but sometimes she’s delaying on purpose to give you the hint that she isn’t interested. In this case the email content is probably where you are going to find out if she’s interested at all.
3. She doesn’t respond - Sorry dude. She didn’t lose your email, she’s not out of the country, she pretty much wants to forget that you exist. Better yet she wants you to forget that she even exists. In fact your email is probably in the spam folder now. Pick yourself up man, have some pride!
So that is why email is not for the faint of heart.
